Work Placement Officer recruitment - only a week to go!

Our 2014 has started with a great deal of excitement, Jo has stepped up and really grabbed the Work Placement Officer role and is enjoying getting to grips with the added responsibility (so much so that we even agreed to her having a week off skiing!) This means that we are still in the process of recruiting another member of the team, a part time WP Officer for 20 to 25 hours a week - closing date is Friday 24th January so be quick!

The Training Partnership Ltd facilitates work experience programmes for European students and is looking to recruit a positive, confident and forward looking person to join our busy and dynamic team for 20 to 25 hours per week – this could be 3 full days or 5 mornings with some flexibility if required.  The role is predominantly office based and the successful applicant will have excellent telephone skills and a good understanding of basic IT systems.  In addition there will be opportunity for regular networking and client visits across Torbay, Plymouth and Exeter areas.

A recruitment, sales or careers advice background would be an advantage as will language skills, particularly German, French or Spanish.  There is a rota system for emergency cover so flexibility and a willingness to be involved are vital.
TTPL is a family friendly, established local company and applicants are invited in the first instance to please send a CV and covering letter to Wendy Williams

Happy New Year - Nadine Stroud, Business Development Director at TTPL

On behalf of everyone at TTPL, Happy New Year to you, we hope 2014 brings you health and happiness.
This year is an important milestone for us…We will be 18 years old! It hardly seems possible that it was so long ago that Jayne sat at her kitchen table and thought; “how am I going to do this”?  Well do it she did and year on year we have grown considerably enabling us to impact positively upon thousands of young lives.  Our involvement in the local economy has developed to the point where we feel we are truly an integral part of the Torbay and South Devon business community.
2014 promises to be every bit as exciting as last year.  Two weeks in and we already have 450 students booked in; It is sure to be the year when we reach our golden goal of 1000 participants.
Excitingly, our funded outbound programme got underway this week, training has begun for six UK graduates who are undertaking preparation before a 10 week work placement in France and Germany – a really fantastic opportunity. This will run again in September 2014 so you’ll find us at many Uni Fairs between now and then recruiting potential candidates for the new Erasmus+ programmes.

Our success would not be possible without the many Hosts, Partners, Work Placements and of course the career minded young people who come to improve their futures.  On a personal note I’d also like to thank a few members of the local community whose support we are very grateful for: Kevin at Airport Transfers Direct, One Zero One, AstleyMedia and the inimitable Frank Sobey.   We could not do what we do without you all and I want to take this opportunity to say thank you for being part of our journey.

May 2014 bring you all that you are dreaming of!
Nadine
